Further information on the presentation:
Systems approaches provide powerful ways of exploring inter-relationships, perspectives and boundaries in evaluation. Exploring inter-relationships is important to understand how programs behave, while perspectives provide insight into motivations and peoples behaviour, and including boundaries allows to determine value or worth of the intervention. Building on these three concepts, systems approaches can provide a convincing framework for evaluation in complex settings.
Bob Williams is an evaluation expert, well known for his work on systems approaches and concepts. Bob Williams authored several books on this topic, in 2016 he published “Wicked solutions: a systems approach to complex problems”, co-authored by Sjan van ‘t Hof. For his work he received the American Evaluation Associations Evaluation Theory Award.
